Poisoning can occur as a result of the ingestion or insinuation of a substance which produces a toxic effect. Well known poisons, such as chlorine, are obvious. However, everyday substances like table salt or |vitamins| can be toxic if large enough quantities are taken in. The symptoms of poisoning include vomiting or ~diarrhea~, sweating, |convulsions|, and loss of consciousness. If poisoning is suspected, IMMEDIATELY call your nearest |Poison Control| Center. They will ask you to report the status of the patient and the location of your nearest hospital. Follow their instructions to the letter. If there is no |Poison Control| within your area, call for emergency medical assistance.
